VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: “How can Not for Profits leverage the systems they already have?”

Tammy Ven Dange: “I think one of the biggest things is to start thinking about leveraging what you might already have. A good example is a lot of organisations don’t realise the fact that Microsoft actually does a lot more than it used to do. It’s not just an office suite with Word and PowerPoint and Excel.

So, I don’t think that enough organisations are actually thinking about that from that perspective, including for document management. Instead, they’re considering alternative tools.

Part of that (fault) is because they’re getting advice from their service providers that are really “break-fix” people. You know – the computer breaks, it doesn’t work. “Okay, I’ll fix it.”

They’re not strategists, they’re not good people to help make these decisions for you. And they’re not usually looking after you from a licensing perspective either.

So, I would say if you’re using Microsoft now, then it’s really worth your time to see what the capability and functionality is within your current licenses.”
