Hello!
Here’s your weekly brief of Executive with a Cause, a list of the people, ideas and technology I’m exploring for Not for Profit leaders.
In this Edition: What would your NFP first do if you had a cybersecurity breach? Job interviews with an AI bot! Is Google about to destroy the internet? …and More!
What I’m thinking about:
- What would your NFP do first if you had a cybersecurity breach? – Most executives and board members cannot answer this question immediately.
What I’m reading:
- AI could help scale humanitarian responses. But it could also have big downsides – For every new use of technology comes new risks. Still, it can be managed for the better good.
- Is Google about to destroy the web? – People are moving away from Google searches to AI searches instead. Still, how much will this impact the traffic to your org’s website? Yesterday, I struggled to find Starlink’s website due to these changes underway in Microsoft’s Edge browser. In the future, we may have to pay for ads to be seen at all.
- The Friendly Caller Who’s Helping Seniors Feel Less Lonely – Meet the AI companion who’s happy to listen to your grandfather talk about his favourite footy team for hours!
- Waiwhetu Medical Centre confirms ransomware attack – This Not for Profit’s indigenous client base is now exposed.
- I was interviewed by an AI bot for a tech job. Next time, I’ll be much more prepared. – Is this the next evolution of pre-recorded video interviews? I don’t know which would be more stressful!
