Hello!
In this Edition: When your system is too complex for your NFP, New privacy ruling could impact your social media ads, robots making meals… and More!
What I’m thinking about:
- When your CRM is too complex for your Not for Profit – Sometimes it’s over optimistic ambitions or the shiny new solution syndrome that gets in the way of choosing the right CRM software for your org.
- Other times, your org is choosing the system too early. When your organisation isn’t ready for a new system.
What I’m reading:
- Privacy commissioner rules Medmate and Monash IVF breached privacy law through tracking pixels – This ruling has potentially huge implications on charities that use social media advertising to attract clients or participants for their services.
- Cloudflare says civil society faces 38.5 billion attacks – including Humanitix and Activists Rights in Australia.
- Cost of living pressures hit charities and communities in latest ACNC data – Costs are rising faster than revenue for charities and those they serve creating a double financial whammy.
- These robots are making meals for a Nonprofit in San Francisco – Japan has been using robots for years in nursing homes due to staff shortages. What do you think of this front-line use case in SF?
- Public servants warned to watch how they talk shop in internet-enhanced vehicles – when your car is listening, no conversation is private anymore.
- NDIS labour hire provider United Foundation enters administration citing registration changes and rising costs – Unfortunately, another provider has fallen. Too many orgs don’t understand the costs of delivering each of their services until it’s too late.
Quote of the month:
“We as students are discouraged from using it and penalized for using it. And then to have our speaker be the champion of AI is just like, OK? Why?”
— Olivia Malone, 22, University of Arizona graduate
