Specifically, she was asked, “My CEO won’t make any decisions until we see what happens with AI. What should we do?” Here is her advice to executives and board members, as well as some warnings about putting confidential information into ChatGPT and other AI tools right now.

Tammy Ven Dange: “The reality is that it goes back to what are your strategic goals. And maybe AI can enable that in the future.
If you’re not using AI right now, it would be very unusual. ChatGPT is just so easy. If you want to do a customer journey, provide it with really detailed prompts, and it can actually help you write those emails.
So, from a productivity point of view, it will save you time, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to change your strategy. It might enable a strategy, but it’s not going to change your strategy. I would have the conversation about will this actually impact the strategy and then go from there.
I get nervous sometimes when I hear about the way people are using it because they could be highly sensitive information into a very public database that is going to be using that information again. So, just be careful what you do right now. Once it’s in Office and Microsoft, it’s going to be contained within your environment, and it’s a lot safer to use.
So, if you’re going to use it now, don’t share anything that you don’t want your competitor or your boss finding out you actually put it in there.
