Tammy Ven Dange: “So they have a quote from the vendor. They figure it’s going to cost that amount of money. They might put some contingency on it, but they actually haven’t added an internal project manager.
They have to consider the time it’s going to take for staff to support it. And so they haven’t backfilled staff at all. So, you are burning out staff because they’re trying to do both.
It ends up taking twice as long so you end up paying twice as much because the vendor has a project manager waiting around for them to answer questions.
That’s the number one problem I see is that people do not adequately budget internal costs.
