Hello!
Here’s your weekly brief of Executive with a Cause, a list of the people, ideas and technology I’m exploring for Not for Profit leaders.
In this Edition: 5 Risks of AI Adoption, Is your doctor’s AI tool listening? Your NFP’s mission may be more dependent on your IT budget than you realise… and More!
What I’m thinking about:
5 Risks of AI Adoption in Not for Profits – I bet you only considered 2 or 3 of these.
What I’m reading:
AI-Powered ‘Ambient Listening’ Is Coming to Your Doctor Visits – It’s not a cheap technology at this stage, but I envision a world where anyone involved in case management (i.e. social workers, medical staff, legal aid) will use AI-enabled dictation to help them complete their notes.
Microsoft Edge Is Getting a Cursed ‘Copilot Mode’ – It’s not live yet, but if it can help me find new gumboots at a local store nearby rather than show me a dozen online store ads, I’ll be okay with it.
UK Legal Aid Agency Finds Data Breach Following Cyberattack – We may never know how these types of attacks impacted already vulnerable individuals. Remain cybersecurity aware out there.
Google Chrome’s Built-in Manager Lets Users Update Breached Passwords with One Click – This is a great preventative tool, especially since many companies have been compromised and people reuse passwords. I’ve even noticed a company recently that prevents you from setting up a new account with a password that has been breached (even if you weren’t aware of it).
Survey: Nonprofits’ Tech Dreams and Challenges (requires free account to view) – The tech gap in Not for Profits may determine those who thrive versus those who barely survive. What percentage of the budget are you spending on IT? This article states that most for-profit organisations spend 5% or more, while NFPs often spend below 3%.
